Cast of How to Succeed in Business

How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying is a hilarious musical about an ambitious young window cleaner J. Pierpont Finch who climbs the corporate ladder on his wits, charm, single mindedness, and without doing any real work.

Finch (Alexander Borrello) buys a book describing how to get ahead in the business world and sets out to try the methods shown. He starts in the mail-room of the World Wide Wicket Company, but quickly gains promotions by impressing boss J.B. Biggley (Chris Semaan) while outsmarting his rival, Bud Frump (Alex Dennis), Biggley’s lazy nephew. On his way up the corporate ladder, Finch meets Rosemary (Lindsey Pieper), an executive secretary in the company. Rosemary is immediately attracted to Finch and, when he expresses frustration that he is not climbing to the top fast enough, she gives him encouragement and inspiration seeking help from her best friend, Smitty (Olivia Freshwater).  Meanwhile, Biggley is trying to keep a female friend, Hedy La Rue (Abbey Sarnacki), happy.  Ultimately, Finch must decide if climbing to the top is worth stepping on those along the way and risking the loss of Rosemary’s affection.

How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying also stars Philip Skylis (Bratt), Catherine Audette (Krumholtz), AlissaBeth Morton (Miss Jones), Alex Hogan (Twimble), Pranav Gopalakrishnan (Gatch), and Alex Mazur (Womper), and an ensemble of over 20 Marian students and 15 Rice students who sing and dance as the company’s secretaries and executives.

Over 50 additional students are working on the many crews.  Stage crew will be led by Kristen Pogats and Mary Rockwell; the art and prop crew, Isabella Kilanowski; sound crew, Maria Signorelli and Maura Wilson; lighting crew, Krysta Mierzejewski and Caris Bing; costume crew, Juliet Paterson; and hair and make-up crew, Sarah Wagner and Megan Gorman.
