Bloomfield Hills- Joe and Anne Pulte Cornillie, parents of two Marian alumnae, were recognized as Marian’s 2009 Distinguished Volunteers for National Philanthropy Day. Sponsored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, National Philanthropy Day honors individuals, corporations, and foundations whose commitment to philanthropy serves as a model for others to emulate.
The Cornillies, who live in Troy, were honored for their generous leadership to Marian High School – with their time, talent, and financial commitment. Over their years as parents at Marian they put in countless hours working on parent club fundraisers, such as the annual Benefit Evening, the Spring Golf Outing, and the Scholarship Fund Raffle. They also belong to Marian’s Leadership Circle, a group of lead benefactors to the school, through their gifts to various funds including the Tradition and Vision capital campaign and the Endowment Fund.
Beyond numerous volunteer activities at the school, Anne has served as Mothers’ Club co-president and Joe has been president of both the Dads’ Club and the Marian Athletic Club. An alumna herself, Anne is currently the president of the school’s Alumnae Association.
As parents of Beth and Clare, both students at Marquette University, “the Cornillies continue to champion the mission of Marian High School,” Sr. Lenore Pochelski, IHM, Marian President, affirms.
Located in Bloomfield Hills, Marian is a Catholic college preparatory school for young women sponsored by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The mission of Marian High School is to ensure an excellent education within a Christian environment, which will enable young women to value human diversity and live responsible lives of leadership and action based on gospel values.
