Marian Ski Team did it, the complete sweep!
Marian became the first high school south of Cadillac to win the Division 1 or Class A State Championship in girls Alpine Skiing. In doing this, the team completed clean sweep of titles! They were Division champs, Catholic League Champs, Regional Champs, SEMSL Champs and on Monday, Feb. 22, they earned the title of STATE CHAMPIONS!!
The team that skiied consisted of Katie Thibideau (who was the individual state champion in both slalom and giant slalom), Kristen Lunghamer, Tara Streng, Kelly Lunghamer, Chelsea Bliss, Stephanie Pieper and Haley Goeckel.
On top of all this, the team had to overcome losing our coach Rob Rhoades, who was injured in a skiing accident on Friday. Congratulations to Coach Rhoades, Coach Thibideau, our fantastic ski team and also to all the parents that made this such a fantastic season.
