The Marian Rice Mech Warriors robotics team is a co-ed co-curricular activity offered at Brother Rice High School. Students involved in this activity build a competitive robot for each of two separate seasons during the school year. During the fall OCCRA season, competition is against teams from Oakland County. During the winter FIRST season, the Mech Warriors compete against teams from across Michigan. Generally, the FIRST team will participate in two district events and one regional event, each against 40-60 other schools. The culmination of the FIRST season is the International Championship Event located in St. Louis, MO.

Bloomfield Hills Marian and Brother Rice best field at Oakland County competition.
The combined team from Bloomfield Hills Marian and Brother Rice (Team 573) earned first place in the Oakland County Competitive Robotics Association (OCCRA) Diversity Tournament at Brandon High School on Saturday, Nov. 5. Marian and Rice finished with 128 points.
