Marian empowers students to continue learning outside the classroom by pursuing leadership opportunities through student government. The All School Board (ASB) and the four class governing boards offer experience in decision-making, planning and sponsoring events, and building school spirit.  Students develop leadership skills and form bonds as they work toward common goals through Marian’s student government.

All School Board

Marian’s All School Board (ASB) consists of Co-Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, PR/Historian, class representatives, and a faculty moderator. Only those students who have been a member of ASB for at least one year may run for an officer position on the All School Board.  Any student meeting the academic and eligibility requirements may run for a representative position on ASB.  The ASB meets bi-monthly after school.

The All School Board has four functions:
  • To initiate, coordinate, and promote activities for the entire student body. These activities are social, spiritual, scholastic and communicative in nature
  • To initiate, coordinate, and promote activities which develop the spirit of the student body and motivate students to assume responsibility.
  • To investigate and make recommendations concerning aspects of school life which affect the student body.
  • To support the continued growth and improvement of Marian High School.

Class Governing Boards

Class Governing Boards consist of a President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, PR/Historian, homeroom representatives, ASB representatives, homeroom teachers, and a faculty moderator for each of the four classes. Any student meeting the academic and eligibility requirements may run for a position on her Class Board.   Class Boards meet monthly to communicate important school information to the class team, discuss class activities, and bring school improvement/activity suggestions to the ASB through their ASB representatives.
