Physical Education

Marian’s physical education program instills an appreciation and an awareness of good health and physical fitness by providing students accurate information and activities that promote good health practices.  The Physical Education Department strives to improve the health and fitness of all students by helping them incorporate new attitudes and behavior patterns into their life styles. 

Course Offerings

  • Health

    1 semester, 1/2 credit
    Open to Grades 9 and 10

    This course provides accurate health information and an opportunity to develop healthful attitudes and behavior patterns.  It presents the material high school students need in order to understand how to become and to stay well.  Healthy/safe choices and decision-making skills will be stressed.
  • Physical Education

    1 semester, 1/2 credit
    Open to 9, 10, 11

    Using a wide variety of activities, this class will improve the student’s level of fitness by improving strength, flexibility, and stamina.  The students will be introduced to leisure sports, team sports, and aerobic activities.  In each of these activities, the students will acquire skills, learn terminology, and understand the basic concepts of each activity.
