Vice President for Advancement
 
Summarized Description
The Vice President for Advancement is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Office for Advancement in addition to the funds development activities related to Marian. The person in this position manages the department budget and supervises professional staff and volunteers. This person is responsible for developing and executing the fundraising plan of the school and generating resources that meet or exceed goals in the Marian Fund, Spring Raffle, Endowment Fund, Scholarship Fund, and other areas of funds development, including major gifts and/or campaigns. The Vice President for Advancement is responsible for researching and developing additional fundraising activities to grow resources available to Marian.
 
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Affirm commitment to Marian’s Mission and Vision
  • Supervise the professional staff in the Office for Advancement including the Advancement Services Manager, the Alumnae Engagement Coordinator, the Communications Coordinator, and the Administrative Assistant
  • Manage department budgets, both income and expense
  • Plan and execute funds development campaigns and appeals
  • Support the funds development needs of the Head of School
  • Cultivate relationships with Marian constituents
  • Provide appropriate stewardship for donors and their gifts.
  • Make personal cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship calls when appropriate
  • Support the needs of the Advancement Committee and its subcommittees (PR/Marketing Committee and Alumnae Board), the Strategic Planning Committee, and the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors as appropriate
  • Work closely with the Office of Admission
 
Periodic Responsibilities (e.g. weekly, quarterly, annually):
  • Develop, implement, and oversee fundraising activities in the areas of the Marian Fund (including special appeals, e.g. Pathway Program, Parent Partnership Program, Giving Tuesday, 24-hour donor campaign) and major gifts, Spring Raffle, Endowment Fund, scholarship funds, campaigns, grants, and special projects initiatives (e.g, school website, special events for donors, volunteers, faculty and staff, regional visits).
  • Supervise the Memorial and Honorarium Program
  • Identify, cultivate, and acknowledge donors
  • Supervise the production of reports regarding fundraising activities
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Marian Benefit Evening coordinator
  • Attend Board of Director meetings; report on funds development initiatives and provide Annual Giving updates
  • Write various pieces for the Head of School
  • Oversee the publication of the Marian Monitor, the Strong Women of Mind and Heart newsletter, and the Annual Report
  • Write and update information for Advancement section of the website
  • Manage school scholarships and administer scholarship applications, interviews, and awards
  • Plan, implement, and manage Advancement components of Strategic Plan, i.e., Endowment Fund activities
  • Research and solicit support from corporations and foundations (matching gifts and grants)
  • Manage Advancement donor events and activities
 
Other Responsibilities: 
  • Research and pursue additional viable resource funds development opportunities for Marian
  • Other projects as assigned by the Head of School

Varsity Head Swim & Dive Coach
 
The Head Swim & Dive Coach works in partnership with the Athletic Director to maintain, organize and administer the interscholastic Swim & Dive program at Marian High School. The Head Swim & Dive Coach is primarily responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
 
Shared responsibilities include interviewing, recommending for hire, and training subordinate coaches; planning, assigning, and directing Swim & Dive instruction; appraising student-athlete and subordinate coach performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems; The head Swim & Dive coach is responsible for helping promote the mission & vision of Marian High School and the core educational beliefs of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary with the school’s Swim & Dive athletes and coaches on a regular basis. This includes propagating a culture of Christian faith, sportsmanship, professionalism and respect at all levels.

Substitute Teachers
 
Marian is seeking qualified substitute teachers for the remainder of the 20-21 school year and beyond. A college education is required, and a teaching certificate issued by the Michigan Department of Education is preferred.  In addition, all qualified candidates must complete a Protecting God’s Children workshop and a criminal background check.
