Located in Bloomfield Hills, Marian is a Catholic college preparatory school for young women sponsored by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Position Summary
Reports To: President, Marian High School
(Full Time, Full Calendar Year) As leader of the Communications team, the Director of Communications is responsible for the development and oversight of the strategic marketing and communications plan for Marian High School. The Director serves as lead brand ambassador and tells Marian’s story, both internally and externally, through web, print, email, digital and social media platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and execute the school’s communication strategy across all media channels that lifts Marian’s mission and Christian values.
• Serve as Marian’s brand ambassador, ensuring all content and logo usage adheres to brand standards.
• Serve as the lead for Marian’s website including content creation, development and design.
• Lead the development of the Marian Monitor magazine, Strong Women e-newsletter and annual Impact Report.
• Design and develop collateral for special events, school activities and fundraising initiatives.
• Drive results through the content creation of compelling, multi-channel fundraising campaigns.
• Develop Marian marketing materials and advertisements in collaboration with Director of Admission.
• Oversee the execution of Marian email blasts from the Office of the President, Board of Directors, Advancement and Alumnae relations.
• Review and approve all event pages before going live.
• Serve as the liaison to the PR/Marketing Subcommittee.
• Develop messaging, scripts and speeches for Marian leadership as requested.
• Supervise the Communications Coordinator, ensuring excellence in all work produced.
Experience
• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or related field
• Minimum of 5 years leadership experience within a marketing/communications team, preferably a school or nonprofit environment
• Demonstrated ability in graphic design, content creation and web development
• Project management skills with a track record of exceeding expectations while delivering on-time results in a complex environment
• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Skilled with Microsoft Suite, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
• Experience with email marketing software such as Mailchimp or Blackbaud

Full-time Counselor 
Marian High School is seeking a full-time School Counselor for the 2023-24 school year (or possibly sooner). High School Counseling experience and experience with PowerSchool and Naviance software are preferred but not required.

Marian is a college preparatory school, and the Counseling Department implements a comprehensive, four-year counseling curriculum. Naviance software as well as counselor-taught live lessons are used frequently and extensively to begin the college conversation as early as the fall of freshman year.

Job qualifications: Master’s Degree or higher in Counseling, Education or Social Work PLUS one of the following: SCL School Counselor License, OR NT Counseling Endorsement for Michigan teacher-certified school counselors, OR LPC Licensed Professional Counselor credential.

Counseling Office Assistant – Full Time
Marian High School is seeking a full-time Counseling Office Assistant for the 2023-24 school year. This is a 10-month, hourly position with benefits. The qualified candidate will hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Experience in a school, counseling, or administrative setting is preferred.
The Counseling Office Assistant is responsible for a number of administrative tasks in the counseling department, ranging from records maintenance/processing and student data input to managing phones and student walk-ins, and assisting with counseling events.
This position requires a substantial amount of online database work in various school software programs, so computer fluency and detail-oriented thinking are a must. Preferred candidates will have a strong command of Google Tools, including Drive, Sheets and Forms, and administrative experience with PowerSchool and Naviance are a “plus”. Marian is seeking qualified substitute teachers. Paraprofessional Substitute Position

Marian High School is seeking a paraprofessional substitute for paraprofessional duties during the school day and possibly after school for the 2022-2023 academic year. Duties include but are not limited to supporting the daily function/operations of the school, monitoring school hallways, and supervising students after school.  Qualifications: college degree preferred. Ideal candidate possesses: ability to communicate with and relate to adolescents and co-workers, good organization skills, and is a team player.
