Our AP English Language and Composition and Women in Literature students had the incredible opportunity to speak with author Kate Moore about her novel, The Woman They Could Not Silence. This powerful true story follows a woman in 1860s America who was declared "insane" by her husband simply for thinking and questioning societal norms. The book resonated so deeply with our students that we reached out to the author in December—and to our delight, she responded with gratitude and offered to host a virtual meet-and-greet from England! During the Zoom session, students asked Mrs. Moore about her research process, the impact of her book, and the lessons to take from this inspiring story. Huge thanks to English teacher Dawn Zink for organizing this incredible experience!
