Marian recently welcomed Adele Gardynik and Lilian McCoy from the Oakland County Health Network (OCHN)’s School Mental Health Navigator program as part of our student wellness initiatives. The presenters addressed Marian students on the crucial topic of Youth Anxiety & Depression and Accessing OCHN Services.
During the session, the speakers delved into the symptoms of anxiety, various types of depressive disorders, and strategies for building resiliency and coping skills. Additionally, students received valuable insights on how to access the mental health services offered by OCHN.
Following the presentation, students broke into smaller groups with Big Sis/Little Sis pairings to reflect.
OCHN is a community-based, local public health system that manages specialty support to persons with serious mental and emotional disturbances, intellectual developmental disabilities, infant mental health, and substance use disorders.
