Katie Pietrosante ’26 Honored with Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award

Katie Pietrosante ’26, has been named a recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen Award. The Piety Hill Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution honored Pietrosante and other local high school students at an event held on January 13 at the Bloomfield Township Public Library. Founded in 1890, the DAR is a nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women's service organization dedicated to historic preservation, education, and patriotism.

The DAR Good Citizen Award celebrates individuals who exemplify the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities. Pietrosante was selected for this distinguished honor by her teachers and peers, recognizing her outstanding commitment to leadership and service.

Speaking about Pietrosante’s achievement, Marian social studies teacher Pat Turner stated, Katie is a compassionate leader, a dedicated friend, and an inspiring role model for her peers.”

Pietrosante also plays an active role in numerous school and community activities. She is co-director of the Marian Mindset Project and secretary of the Friends of the Earth club and the National Art Honor Society. She is also a member of the varsity bowling team, the National Honor Society, and the Women’s Empowerment Club. In addition, Katie recently qualified for states at the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) competition.
