Marian BEAM&R Members Attend 2026 Michigan Outlook Hosted by the Detroit Economic Club

A group of nine Marian students recently attended the 2026 Michigan Economic Outlook presented by the Detroit Economic Club. These students had the opportunity to gain insights into the state’s most pressing challenges, including the impact of trade policy, attracting businesses and talent, and the future of manufacturing. In addition, they heard the results of the 14th annual Michigan Economic Outlook Survey.

Following the event, they took part in an exclusive Q&A session with the event’s keynote speakers: Quentin Messer Jr., Chief Executive and Economic Competitiveness Officer at the Michigan Economic Development Corp.; Mary Buchzeiger, CEO of Lucerne International; and Gabriel Ehrlich, Director of Research Seminar in Quantitative Economics at the University of Michigan.

“I am so proud to represent such an amazing group of young women,” says Claudine Denha, moderator of the Business Entrepreneurship Alliance for Marian & Brother Rice (BEAM&R). “This was such an awesome experience, and I know the girls were inspired to one day become one of the speakers on that panel.”

Special thanks to Matt Valant at the Detroit Economic Club for extending our students this opportunity and Angie Kelly from EY for the generous sponsorship of our group.
