Marian Celebrates Modern Language & Culture Week

Marian students celebrated Modern Language & Culture Week with a fun and immersive lineup of activities that highlighted global languages and traditions.

Throughout the week, students participated in a variety of cultural and language-focused experiences designed to deepen their appreciation for the world beyond our classrooms. TruFood helped bring global flavors to life by offering traditional international dishes during lunch. On Tuesday, language students collaborated to recreate half of a famous work of art, blending cultural exploration with creativity. Wednesday brought high energy to the auditorium as students joined Ms. Faw for a lively Zumba workout. Students also challenged themselves by memorizing and presenting tongue twisters in the languages they are studying.

Marian’s Spanish Honor Society added a meaningful service component to the week by hosting a Candygrams fundraiser during lunches. Students could purchase Chupa Chup lollipops for themselves or surprise friends with deliveries to homerooms as Galentine’s gifts. Proceeds from the sale will support the sponsorship of a school in the Amazon Rainforest, helping provide school supplies for its students for an entire year.
