Marian Community Delivers 150 Baskets of Hope

During this Lenten season, the Marian community came together to fill more than 150 Easter baskets for individuals and families in need. Students, faculty, and staff generously contributed stuffed animals, books, puzzles, candy, and personal care items.

The collection will benefit the Jail & Outreach Ministry, which serves individuals affected by crime, including victims, offenders and their families, offering compassion, support, and hope. Marian has proudly partnered with the Jail & Outreach Ministry for many years through its connection with Sr. Peggy Devaney, IHM. Members of Marian’s Project Care club helped assemble the baskets, which were then delivered to St. Damien of Molokai parish in Pontiac.

“I am so happy so many in our Marian community responded to this much needed outreach,” says Sheila Geary, Marian theology teacher and campus minister. “Sometimes the people we just helped are overlooked, and through this effort, we were able to help them feel seen and respected.”
