Marian Students Pilot MHSAA Coaches Advancement Program
Marian High School is proud to share that five students recently participated in a pilot of the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Coaches Advancement Program (CAP), hosted at Notre Dame Prep. Athletic Director Molly Campbell accompanied Olivia Rotter ’27, Erin DeGrazia ’27, Margaret Conroy ’28, Ellen Jansen ’28, and Emma Wyciskalla ’28 as they represented Marian in this unique leadership experience.
The MHSAA CAP is an educational program designed to support coaches in their growth and development as leaders in educational athletics. While the program is required for all head coaches in Michigan, Notre Dame Prep is piloting the initiative to introduce high school students—especially those interested in athletic leadership or future coaching careers—to its benefits early.
The students completed CAP 1 certification, a foundational course that introduces participants to the philosophy and regulations of the MHSAA, effective teaching and communication strategies, and best practices for athlete safety, injury prevention, and risk management. This training provides a strong framework for understanding the role of a coach as both a teacher and mentor while emphasizing the values of educational athletics.
Congratulations to Olivia, Erin, Margaret, Ellen, and Emma for embracing this opportunity with enthusiasm and leadership.

This past Saturday, the Marian Forensics Team competed in the third official Detroit Catholic Forensic League tournament of the season with great success.

Senior Claire Fagan has had one of her pottery pieces, Bean Jar, selected for the National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition, which will take place at Detroit's Huntington Place Convention Center March 25-28 in conjunction with the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts Conference.

Marian recently welcomed the 2026 class of inductees to the Marian Hall of Fame. This distinguished group of honorees includes alumnae, teachers, coaches, and parents whose time, talents, and contributions have helped to advance the mission of Marian High School.

Katie Pietrosante ’26, has been named a recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen Award. The Piety Hill Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution honored Pietrosante and other local high school students at an event held on January 13 at the Bloomfield Township Public Library.

A group of 10 Marian students recently attended the 2026 Michigan Economic Outlook presented by the Detroit Economic Club.

Eighty-two students represented Marian at the District 5 DECA competition on January 8 at Eastern Michigan University. This is the largest group of Marian students ever to participate in the competition.
