October Students of the Month
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department Student of the Month Program recognizes students who exemplify outstanding characteristics both as a student and as a citizen of the Marian Community. Marian Students of the Month are able to handle many different aspects of student life while maintaining excellence within the classroom, showing great effort, good attendance, and excellent character through compassion, honesty, trustworthiness, optimism, and responsibility. Each month, one student from each grade will be nominated by Marian faculty/staff for student of the month. Students will receive a certificate, a student of the month bumper sticker, have an opportunity to win a prize courtesy of the Detroit Pistons and/or Emagine Entertainment, a personalized card from their teachers and Marian staff members as well as recognition in the MHUB.
For the month of October, we are proud to recognize:
- Emily Murphy (9th grade)
- Ally McAllister (10th grade)
- Lucy Clark (11th grade)
- Madelyn Prantera (12th grade)

Yesterday, Marian High School celebrated the official ribbon cutting for two major renovation projects: the Fisher Family Science Wing, made possible by the generosity of the Fisher Family, and the Wanink Art Wing, brought to life thanks to a generous gift from the estate of alumna Billie Jo Wanink ’63.
