Varsity Soccer tops Cranbrook to claim 2025 CHSL Bishop Division Title

Division 2 No. 2-ranked Marian Varsity Soccer secured a decisive 3-0 victory over Cranbrook Kingswood in the CHSL Bishop Division Championship held at Shrine High School, bringing the school’s championship total to 19. The Mustangs have now won six CHSL titles in the last decade.

Despite strong winds on Saturday, Bella Musachio opened the scoring early for Marian. In the second half, a combination of stifling, disciplined defense and two goals by Nia Bordogna helped the Mustangs secure the shutout victory over the Cranes.

“A truly remarkable team performance," Head Coach Danny Price said. "I’m pleased for the players and the staff; when these players embody our standards and principles of play, it’s the greatest compliment any coaching staff can receive."

"They did that in the CHSL Final and have been showing signs all season, it finally came together on Saturday, and we couldn’t be more proud of them as a group," Price added.

Marian holds a current record of 14-2-1 on the season and finished with a perfect record in CHSL play. The Mustangs’ defense has been dominant, allowing just two goals in their last eight games and only eight goals all season.

Marian previously defeated Cranbrook 4-1 during the CHSL regular season, showcasing similar dominance.

The Mustangs will host Holly at home for their final regular season game on Future Mustangs Night, May 19, at 6:00 p.m., before turning their focus to the MHSAA Playoffs, which begin with District play on May 28.
