ADMISSION TO MARIAN'S FUTURE CLASS OF 2027 (CURRENT 8TH GRADERS)

The steps listed below represent the standard admission timeline for the Class of 2027 (applications were due in early December), and will be updated this summer to reflect simillar dates and deadlines for current 7th graders, who will begin the application process for the Class of 2028 this fall.

Admission Process for 8th Graders Entering the Class of 2027
Eighth graders were required to complete all admission application components  and take the High School Placement Test no later than Saturday, December 3, 2022 in order to receive admission decisions on Friday, January 27, 2023. Accepted students were invited to register in late February/early March 2023. 
 
The required components of an ADMISSION APPLICATION are:
  • Admission application (start an application now) and supplemental essay
  • Student Profile Form (print and give to student’s current school for completion and return to Marian) with the following supporting academic data:
    • standardized tests (6th, 7th, and 8th grade)
    • report cards (7th and 8th grade)
  • HSPT score 
How to Apply for an Academic Merit Scholarship ($1,500 - $3,000 renewable):
Students who completed all requirements of an Admission application and an Academic Merit Scholarship application by Thursday, December 1, 2022, and took the HSPT no later than December 3, 2022 were considered for renewable academic merit scholarships based on national percentile HSPT composite scores. The required components of an ACADEMIC MERIT SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION are:
  • Academic merit scholarship Academic Merit Scholarship Essay
  • One letter of recommendation from a current teacher, coach, or moderator
  • HSPT score (designate Marian to receive your score when registering for HSPT)
 
Additional post-registration scholarships were available to the Class of 2027 by application in March, and may be reviewed at the link above.
How to Apply for Tuition Assistance from Marian High School (up to $11,000):
If an applicant wished to be considered for and receive a tuition assistance notification at the same time as her admission decision in January, she must have completed all requirements of an admission application, and a FACTS/Grant & Aid application by Thursday, December 1, 2022 and have taken the HSPT no later than December 3. Applicants who are accepted after January 27 will be considered for tuition assistance on a rolling basis, funds permitting.
 
The required components of a TUITION ASSISTANCE APPLICATION are:
  • FACTS/Grant & Aid application (To begin your FACTS/Grant and Aid application, got to https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/3FTM0NOTE: It is very important that in the “Term” box, you select “2023-24 School Year”. )
  • Supplemental tax documents (families of 8th graders may apply based on ’21 tax return)
In addition, Marian Tuition Assistance Grants and Archdiocese of Detroit Grants may be available to families who are committed to providing their daughter(s) a Marian education but require assistance. View all grant opportunities here.
LATE ADMISSION FOR '23-'24 SCHOOL YEAR
Current 8th graders and transfer students interested in applying for Fall 2023 admission should contact the Office of Admission at 248-502-3033 before beginning any admission steps. Late applications are being accepted for review, but special circumstances apply at this time of year.

TRANSFER ADMISSION TO MARIAN'S CURRENT CLASSES

The last opportunity for a student to apply for a transfer to Marian is for a second quarter start of 11th grade.
 
The required components of a TRANSFER ADMISSION APPLICATION are:
  • start an application now (with supplemental essay)
  • standardized test results for the current plus two previous academic years
  • report cards for the current plus two previous academic years
  • Upon an initial review, the Admission Committee will determine if student may move forward to the next step in the process, a transfer interview.
*Important note regarding transfer admission: If applying for transfer admission, please be aware that MHSAA rules limit a student’s athletic eligibility upon transferring from one high school to another.  Please complete this form for athletic eligibility review.
