Scholarships Available to Incoming 9th Graders
Scholarships may be awarded only to students who submit their application materials by the December 12 deadline. Students applying for admission after the December 12 deadline may not be eligible for scholarships.
Academic Merit Scholarships
Marian automatically offers Academic Merit Scholarships to on-time applicants for 9th grade based on the November or December test dates of the HSPT (no scholarship application required).

Named Scholarships
Named Scholarships range from $1,800 up to $6,300. To apply, applicants for 9th grade should submit the following with their admission application by the December 12 deadline:
- Named scholarship application.
- Letter of recommendation (from a teacher, moderator, supervisor or coach) to be emailed to admission@marian-hs.org.
- FACTS/Grant and Aid Application (required for need-based scholarships only)

Kelly Nagle Scholarship
This Scholarship was established in honor of Kelly O’Hara Nagle ‘77 and celebrates her determination, grit and kind spirit. The Kelly Nagle Scholarship provides a four-year renewable scholarship awarded to an incoming Marian High School student for use during her freshman year. The student should be involved in co-curriculars, athletics or community service and demonstrate determination, perseverance and kindness. The scholarship recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. Renewable based on renewal criteria distributed at time of award. |

Raymond J. Nagle Memorial Scholarship |

Ancog Good Neighbor Scholarship Established in 2024, the Ancog Good Neighbor Scholarship honors a student who embodies the qualities of a good neighbor within her community and school. This nonrenewable scholarship is awarded to an incoming Marian High School student with demonstrated financial need for use during her freshman year. |

Scholarships Available to Returning Students
Several endowed scholarships are available to Marian students entering grades 10-12. Applications are due in March for the following school year. Students are encouraged to apply for multiple scholarships and may be selected as finalists for multiple scholarship. Scholarship winners are announced in early May and recognized at Honors Convocation.
Entering 10th Grade
- Dolores Chapman Memorial Scholarship - $4,800 (Non-Renewable)

- Applicant must be a current freshman; award to be applied to recipient’s account for sophomore year
- Other criteria: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; demonstrated success in honors science for the current school year; registered for honors science for next school year; must be involved in STEM Club activities; and has financial need
Sr. Dorothy Peltier, IHM Science Scholarship - $3,100 (Non-Renewable)
- One (1) one-time, non-renewable award of $3,100
- Applicant must be a current freshman; award to be applied to recipient’s account for sophomore year
- Other criteria: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5; demonstrated success in honors science and math, including being registered for honors science and math for sophomore year; and has financial need

- Three (3) one-time, non-renewable awards of $1,650 awarded to three (3) applicants each year (1 current freshman, 1 current sophomore, and 1 current junior)
- Award to be applied to recipient’s account for the next school year; previous recipients may reapply for this scholarship
- Other criteria: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; involvement in co-curricular activities, athletics, and/or leadership inside or outside of school; and has financial need
Taunt Family Scholarship - $1,000 (Renewable)
- One (1) renewable award of $1,000 a year provided the recipient continues to meet the qualifying criteria
- Applicant must be a current freshman; award to be applied to recipient’s account for sophomore year
- Other criteria: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; involved in community service; demonstrates an effort to contribute to the cost of education; has financial need; and completing a renewal application form in subsequent years
Entering 11th Grade

Elizabeth O’Donnell Baer ’89 Memorial Scholarship - $5,250 (Non-Renewable)
- Two (2) one-time, non-renewable awards of $5,250 will be awarded to two (2) applicants each year (1 current sophomore and 1 current junior)
- Applicant must be a current sophomore; award will be applied to recipient’s account following year
- Other criteria: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in college preparatory classes; involved in athletics; has a strong sense of tenacity and demonstrates hard work; has the ability to make others feel good about themselves; exhibits proficient writing skills
Caritas Scholarship - $2,200 (Non-Renewable)
- One (1) one-time, non-renewable award of $2,200
- Applicant must be a current sophomore; award to be applied to recipient’s account for junior year
- Other criteria: Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5; involved in school/community outreach, co-curricular activities and/or athletic activities; possesses the qualities of prayer, work, study, and play which are portrayed by the statue; and has financial need
Mary Anne Harahan Memorial Scholarship - $1,900 (Renewable)
- One (1) renewable award of $1,900 provided the recipient continues to meet the qualifying criteria
- Applicant must be a current sophomore; award to be applied to her account for junior year
- Criteria: Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5; involved in community service, co-curricular activities and/or athletics; has demonstrated an effort to contribute to cost of education; has financial need; and completing a renewal application form in subsequent years
Richard T. Healy, Jr. Scholarship - $2,000 (Renewable)
- One (1) renewable award of $2,000 provided the recipient continues to meet the qualifying criteria
- Applicant must be a current sophomore; award to be applied to recipient’s account for junior year
- Must submit a letter of recommendation from a Marian coach, faculty or staff noting kindness to others, hard work and determination
- Other criteria: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; demonstrate commitment to Christian values and faith through school or community service; qualifies for tuition assistance or meets the school financial need requirements
- Kolasa Kelly Science Scholarship - $2,000 (Renewable)

Kolasa Kelly Science Scholarship - $2,000 (Renewable)
- One (1) renewable award of $2,000 provided the recipient continues to meet the qualifying criteria
- Applicant must be a current sophomore; award to be applied to recipient’s account for junior year
- Other criteria: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 with As or Bs in science and mathematics; involved in community service, preferably in the health field; preference will be given to students with interest in nutrition, lifestyle, family, or primary care medicines; and completing a renewal application form in subsequent years
Samyn Akao Science Scholarship - $1,650 (Renewable)
- One (1) renewable award of $1,650 provided the recipient continues to meet the qualifying criteria
- Applicant must be a current sophomore; award to be applied to recipient’s account for junior year
- Other criteria: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5; excellence in sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, and/or mathematics); involvement in the arts (fine arts, music, or theatre) and community service; and completing a renewal application form in subsequent years

- Other criteria: Minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher, have been involved in at least two mainstage Marian shows (cast or crew) and continue to be an active member of the Marian Rice Players.
