Uniforms set an atmosphere and tone for education. Marian’s uniform regulations are intended to promote self-respect in the area of dress and personal grooming, as well as respect for others.

  •  What is a proper uniform at Marian?
    • Uniform Skirt, Pants, or Shorts (until the last Friday of September only): Skirts must be properly hemmed to the top of the knee.  Pants and shorts will be a specific style, brand and color purchased only from Educational Outfitters.
    • Blouse/Shirt:  Students have several options for their uniform top.
      • A uniform oxford shirt (short or long sleeved) in solid white, light blue, or yellow.  Oxford shirts, with the exception of those that have an elastic bottom, must be tucked in.
      • A white or navy-blue monogrammed polo shirt (short or long sleeved).
    • The socks or tights must be solid navy, dark green, white, gray or black (no stripes, logos or patterns except cable knit and Marian crew socks purchased from the Stang Shop with the Marian Mustang logo).
    • Shoes:  Footwear must be leather or leather-like solid brown, black, or tan shoes or clogs that cover the front and sides of the foot and extend no higher than the ankle.  The heel of the shoe must not exceed 2 inches. Slippers, boots, hiking shoes, sandals (including Birkenstock sandals), tennis/canvas shoes, etc. are not acceptable footwear and shoes may not have any fur, beads, or fringe on them.
    • Sweater/Sweater Vest/Cardigan:  Optional navy or forest green, V-neck vest, V-neck sweater, crew-neck sweater, or cardigan sweater with Marian crest.
      • Fleece: Optional navy fleece pullover with Marian crest.
      • Blazer:  Optional navy wool blazer with Marian crest.
  • What is available to purchase from Educational Outfitters for a proper uniform?
    • Required:  The uniform skirt, oxford blouses, sweater and/or sweater vest and socks
    • Optional:  The blazer with crest, optional pants, or optional shorts

  •  Are there any special dress days at Marian?
    • Spirit Day:  Each Friday students may wear an imprinted Marian shirt, fleece or sweatshirt and tennis shoes with the uniform socks and skirt.
    • All-school Mass Days: On days we celebrate Mass, students must wear their full Marian uniform. This includes a Marian sweater, fleece, blazer, or letter sweater and knee socks, tights, or Mustang socks.
    • Non-uniform Dress Days:  When the uniform regulations are not in effect, students are expected to be in school in appropriate attire.  Halter tops, bare midriffs, low-cut necklines, sleeveless tops, spaghetti straps, form fitting pants, shorts, or tops, robes, slippers, pajamas or anything not in keeping with school attire or that could be considered immodest may not be worn.  Neither flip-flops nor slippers may be worn.
