Marian Announces National Merit Finalist

One Marian High School senior has achieved National Merit Finalist standing in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. Daughter of Kim Toma Giessler and Paul Giessler of West Bloomfield, Jacqueline Giessler is one of 15,000 finalists and represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.
Jacqueline has an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships, worth more than $35 million. All winners are chosen from the finalist group, based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments. Academic records, activities and leadership, and the finalist's own essay are also considerations for granting an award.
