Marian Announces National Merit Finalist

One Marian High School senior has achieved National Merit Finalist standing in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. Daughter of Kim Toma Giessler and Paul Giessler of West Bloomfield, Jacqueline Giessler is one of 15,000 finalists and represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.
 
Jacqueline has an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships, worth more than $35 million. All winners are chosen from the finalist group, based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments. Academic records, activities and leadership, and the finalist's own essay are also considerations for granting an award.
Located in Bloomfield Hills, Marian High School is a Catholic college preparatory high school for young women sponsored by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  The mission of Marian High School is to ensure an excellent education within a Christian environment, which will enable young women to value human diversity and live responsible lives of leadership and action based upon gospel values.
