Marian Honors Margaret and Ed Kronk

Margaret and Ed Kronk, residents of Beverly Hills, were honored for their volunteer service to Marian at the school’s Celebration of Thanks. This event is an annual reception honoring individuals and groups who have given tremendous amounts of time, talent, and treasure to Marian during the year. This spring, the Board of Directors and Sr. Lenore Pochelski, IHM, Head of School, honored Margaret and Ed Kronk, alumna parents who have been active volunteers at Marian for nearly 30 years.
Margaret and Ed are the parents of alumna daughter, Carrie Kronk Pagliarini ’96, and son, Adam. The Kronks have been part of the Marian community since 1992 when Carrie first entered Marian as a freshman.
As a member of the Mothers’ Club, Margaret spent much of her time assisting with important tasks and responsibilities at the school as well as with the longstanding, signature school fundraiser, Calico. For two years, Margaret served as the co-chair responsible for securing and managing the dozens of exhibitors that participated in the event. This required an immense time commitment and was vital to the success of one of Marian’s most important and highly regarded fundraising initiatives.
Even after her daughter Carrie graduated from Marian in 1996, Margaret and Ed’s service to the school continued. Ed gladly accepted an invitation to join Marian’s Board of Directors in the early 2000s. During his tenure on the Board, Ed was an important voice in the decisions that laid the groundwork for the very successful Tradition and Vision Campaign; a campaign that made Marian’s state-of-the-art gym and auditorium a reality. For the last five years, Ed has served on the Head of School Council. In this role, he is an incredibly valued advisor and a strong ambassador for Marian in the community.
Margaret also served on Marian’s Board of Directors, starting her tenure in 2014. She dedicated much time and energy to the Mission Integration committee and also played a significant role in the development of Marian’s five-year Strategic Plan. This complex, multifaceted plan includes four main goals, 18 objectives and countless strategies. It serves as the vital roadmap that focuses and guides Marian’s every effort and inspires the school’s community to think and act strategically about Marian’s growth in both the near and distant future. The task to create this plan was an enormous undertaking that was accomplished in large part because of Margaret’s leadership, tireless energy and incredible organizational skills.
Throughout their many years of involvement with Marian, Margaret and Ed have always been wonderful advocates for the school. They continue to care about Marian because they say it is a great way to “give back” – to say thank you for their daughter’s education and to continue quality Catholic education of young women into the future. The Marian community is incredibly grateful to have Margaret and Ed as part of its family and are honored that they have chosen to stay so involved and connected.
The celebration concluded with the Marian Melodies singing three beautiful songs to honor the Kronks and the many other donors and volunteers at the event.
