Marian High School senior, Allison Wagner, has been named Commended Student in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program based on her scores on the 2018 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
Allison is one of 34,000 commended students throughout the nation who are recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Some of these students become candidates for Special Scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses. Commended Honorees placed among the top 50,000 scorers of the more than 1.5 million students that entered the competition.
Allison, daughter of Jennifer and Richard Wagner of Royal Oak, is a member of Marian’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) club, is a Co-president of the Life Is For Everyone (LIFE) club, and is a member of Project Care, Marian’s community outreach service club. Allison is on Marian’s varsity softball and field hockey teams, and was captain of the junior varsity soccer team. She has been selected to be on the Archdiocese of Detroit All-Catholic Academic Teams for 2017, 2018, and 2019. Also, she was a volunteer for International Samaritan last February as part of Marian’s mission outreach program in Guatemala. In her spare time, she teaches tennis and is a USTA Tennis Attendant
