Marian Alum Dr. Kolasa '67 Returns for Special Visit

Kathryn Kolasa Ph.D., RDN, LDN from the Class of 1967, and professor emerita, Brody School of Medicine at Eastern Carolina University in Greenville, NC, visited Marian on September 22nd for two very special reasons. The Kelly Kolasa Scholarship, established in 2014 by Dr. Kolasa and her husband Patrick Kelly, has benefitted 6 Marian students. During her time on campus, Dr. Kolasa met with the two scholarship recipients, Isabella Kouza (pictured left) and Amina Thompson (pictured right), and was also a guest speaker during health classes. She spoke with three different health classes regarding the importance of proper nutrition, balanced meals, physical activity, dietary needs of athletes and answered many questions the students had regarding the topics. Marian is fortunate to have such an accomplished alumna who is passionate about the health and success of our students.
